The new experimental department of our recently appointed director, Prof. Raphaële Clément, is seeking a

Research Coordinator (m/f/d)

The role:

Administrative and Coordination Support:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the department via phone or e-mail.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and schedule meetings.
  • Manage day-to-day e-mail correspondence in both English and German.
  • Provide administrative support to department members and visiting scientists, including assistance with accommodation arrangements.
  • Liaise with the institute’s administration on matters such as travel reimbursements, procurement of materials, and inventory management.
  • Maintain and update the department’s website using the content management system (CMS).

Scientific and Research Support:

  • Assist with preparation and editing of scientific manuscripts, reports, and presentations.
  • Support grant writing efforts, including drafting, formatting, and proofreading proposals.
  • Help coordinate research projects and track deadlines/deliverables.

Events and Outreach:

  • Organize scientific meetings, workshops and conferences.
  • Coordinate communication with speakers, participants, and vendors.
  • Assist with outreach and dissemination activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and German.
  • Strong proficiency in standard software and a willingness to learn new tools.
  • Open-minded and comfortable working with diverse cultures and communication styles.
  • Highly flexible, reliable and well organized.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
  • Proactive in anticipating and prioritizing tasks.
  • Takes initiative and works with a high degree of responsibility.
  • Enjoys working in an international, scientific environment.

Preferred:

  • Prior research experience (academic or industry).
  • Experience with scientific writing or grant preparation.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS).
  • Familiarity with academic environments and funding processes.
  • Experience organizing events or conferences.

What we offer:

  • A two-year contract initially.
  • The preferred starting date is July 1st, 2026.
  • 50 % contract initially, with the option of increasing working hours at a later stage.
